Never let the politicians forget that."

Protect your right to play!

Some politicians in Washington -- and in state capitals around the country -- are attacking the rights of millions of America who play poker online and millions more who play poker live.

In 2006, Congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) that tried to equate online poker players with terrorists and international criminals. The politicians attacked online poker and tried to take away our right to play. But they failed. Millions of Americans continue to play on unlicensed and unregulated sites where there are no American law enforcement or consumer protections against cheating, identity theft or online fraud.

Some Washington politicians even threatened to make it a FEDERAL CRIME for YOU to play online. That would give Federal agents the right to enter your home, confiscate your computer, violate the privacy of your banking and financial records and subject you to Federal prosecution and criminal penalties -- just for exercising your right to play online poker.

But now, enlightened political leaders around the country are joining poker players to remedy this dangerous situation by seeking to legalize online poker on a state-by-state basis - explicitly permitted by UIGEA's "intrastate exemption" -- as the best way protect players and our right to play.

Before the end of 2009, the California Online Poker Law Enforcement Compliance and Consumer Protection Act will be considered by the State Legislature. The model proposal would authorize and implement a legal intrastate online poker system in California. For more information on how you can join the fight to legalize online poker, click HERE.
